Taste of Dalmatia

taste-of-dalmatia-test

Discover the best of Dalmatia, the region on the eastern coast of the Adriatic Sea, often synonymous with Croatia’s Adriatic coast. This day trip from Dubrovnik will certainly delight you, as you sample local food and enjoy the incredible scenery.

Highlights

  • Taste of Dalmatia day trip from Dubrovnik
  • Enjoy local cuisine, including fresh seafood, homemade cheese and smoked ham
  • Wine tasting
  • Demonstration of olive oil production
  • Transport by air-conditioned coach
  •  English-speaking local guide

After you depart Dubrovnik, start your day trip through Dalmatia by visiting the charming village of Orašac, and take part in the production of olive oil in the old-fashioned way, where the mill is driven by a horse. Here, you will also have the opportunity to taste some homemade cheese, smoked ham and wine in a traditional Croatian house.

Enjoy a short tour of Ston, which in the times of the Dubrovnik Republic, was the second-most important town in the area. Its wealth was derived from the salt works that are still functioning today. Although it was known for its spectacular city walls, considered the second-longest in the world, the region today is predominantly known as the oyster capital of Croatia. After the tour, you will be served a tasty seafood platter with octopus, mussels, small fish and an oyster.

Lastly, you’ll visit one of the best-known wine producers on the Dalmatian coast. The Pelješac peninsula has for ages been known for its excellent wines, and the Miloš family wine cellar is today one of the foremost representatives of the region’s industry. During the visit to the cellar, you will enjoy a wine tasting.
